Limpopo Boy’s management has responded to an intimate video involving the artist that has been circulating online without his consent. The management team has described the distribution of the footage as unauthorised and malicious and said steps are being taken to have it removed.
Limpopo Boy, whose real name is Robert Matome Thoka, is an internationally recognised dancer, choreographer and musician from Limpopo. He has performed at major events including the Global Citizen Festival and competed in international dance battles, including the Brussels Dance Battle, which he won in Belgium in July 2023.
The artist has a substantial social media following, with about 4.1 million followers on Facebook, 1.1 million on Instagram and 2 million on TikTok. His management said the video was originally posted through the Limpopo Boy RSA Facebook Stories account before being circulated more widely.

Limpopo Boy’s management said the footage was obtained and shared without permission. The team said it considers the incident a serious breach of privacy and has described it as a criminal matter.
“This content was stolen without consent and shared entirely without authorisation. This is a serious violation of privacy and a criminal matter.”
The management team said it has begun working with cybersecurity specialists to establish how the footage was obtained and distributed. Legal representatives and online platforms are also being engaged as efforts continue to remove the material from circulation.

The management said cybersecurity experts are investigating the source of the breach. It also said legal teams are working with hosting platforms to pursue the removal of links and files containing the footage.

“We are in the process of engaging cybersecurity experts to investigate the source of this breach. We are actively working with legal teams and hosting platforms to ensure the immediate removal of these links and files.”
The team has urged members of the public not to share, download or interact with links containing the video. It said further distribution could cause additional harm while efforts to remove the material continue.
