South African DJ, entrepreneur and media personality DJ Zinhle has addressed persistent rumours about her relationship with actress and television star Pearl Thusi, insisting that the pair remain as close as ever. Speaking on the L-Tido Podcast, she said social media speculation about their friendship does not reflect reality.
For years, fans have questioned whether the longtime friends had drifted apart after they stopped appearing together as frequently in public. DJ Zinhle, however, said their bond has remained intact despite the changes in their personal lives.
The award-winning star explained that while their circumstances have changed over time, her relationship with Pearl Thusi continues to be built on a strong foundation.
DJ Zinhle Says Pearl Thusi Is ‘My Forever Girl’
DJ Zinhle made it clear that there has been no fallout between her and Pearl Thusi, describing the actress as more than just a friend.
“We are definitely friends. I think we are sisters more than friends. Pearl is my forever girl.”
She explained that distance, marriage and parenthood have naturally changed how often they see one another.
“I think in terms of proximity and physical distance and different parts that we’ve taken in our lives. I’m married. I have kids. She has a kid.”
DJ Zinhle added that their friendship evolved after they stopped living together.
“We have different lives versus to how when we lived in one house. The relationship is going to be different.”
DJ Zinhle Reflects On Living With Pearl Thusi
Looking back, DJ Zinhle fondly recalled the years she spent living with Pearl Thusi, saying they enjoyed spending almost all of their time together.
“Oh, we were bad. I think I lived at Pearl’s for 2 to 3 years. When we lived together you would see a lot of us together. So when I moved to my house which is so far from her we were not seeing each other as much as we used to because of distance and I also it married and a lot happened. But we used to party a lot. We were partying and drinking. We were partying with everyone.”

She also acknowledged that many of the lifestyle changes people have noticed over the years have come from her own shifting priorities.
“If you guys were to blame anyone between the change in the relationship between either Pearl or me, mostly blame me. I have changed so many things about my life over the years obviously because we had to deal with the lose. But also I love being home with my husband and my kids.”
DJ Zinhle Opens Up About Friendship With Moozlie
DJ Zinhle also spoke about her friendship with radio and television personality Moozlie, who previously served as creative director for ERA by DJ Zinhle.

She explained that while Moozlie’s move to Metro FM changed their daily routine, they remain close despite seeing each other less often.
“Moozlie worked with us for so many years and she recently left because she joined Metro FM. We were in the office everyday so we could see each other every time but now we’re doing so much at different times. We try to each other as much as we can, but like dynamics change. I think it’s the same thing with Pearl and I.”
